Antoinette Ann Sobota, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023 at the age of 72. She was born on June 12, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Walter and Ann (nee Bartkowiak). Antoinette was a kind-hearted and compassionate person who had a deep love for dogs, especially her beloved Miley. She found joy in helping children in her neighborhood and always had a listening ear to their needs. Antoinette had a passion for politics, particularly the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights City Council, where she followed the developments and news with keen interest. She was always up to date on the latest political happenings and had a clear opinion about them. She was also an avid gardener, spending hours in her garden, planting and nurturing plants with great care and love. She had a green thumb and took great pride in her beautiful garden. Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ann. She will be deeply missed by her loving siblings, Dennis (Kathryn) and Tom (Gina), and her cherished nieces and nephew, Steve (Montse), Nicole, and Elisabeth (Tony) Sobota-Perry. She was a dear great-aunt to Xochitl, Mixtli, Kinga, Veronica, Patricia, and Michael. A visitation will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Kateri Catholic Church, 16101 Rotunda Dr., Dearborn, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Antoinette's memory will forever be cherished by all those who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Capuchins or Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit.
