Beverly J. Czerwienski

March 11, 1936 — April 30, 2024

Beverly J. Czerwienski, 88, of Williamsburg, Ml passed away peacefully at Traverse Manor, Traverse City, on April 30, 2024, after battling dementia issues for the past few years. We are expressing thanks to Traverse Manor and Hospice of Michigan for their wonderful care of Bev. Beverly was born March 11, 1936, in Detroit, Ml to Rosalind and George Adams. Rosalind and George divorced, and Rosalind married George Bruaene who became Beverly's Stepfather. Beverly graduated from Cooley High School in 1954 in Detroit and took a job with Winkleman's Department Store. She subsequently met Thomas J. Reardon and they married in 1957 and moved to Dearborn Heights, Ml where she became a stay-at-home mom. They had four children, Karen, Michael, Kathleen, and Thomas who all attended St. Linus Elementary School in Dearborn Heights. Unfortunately, Thomas J. Readon died unexpectedly in 1970 from a heart attack and Bev then took a job as a teller with Detroit Bank & Trust where she met Thomas Czerwienski, and they married in 1971 and remained in Dearborn Heights. Beverly & Tom engaged in many activities with St. Linus School and Church due to their involvement with their children and became close personal friends with six couples that called themselves the "Group" and maintained that close personal relationship to this day. In 1980 Thomas received a job offer from Traverse City State Bank and so they moved to Traverse City with their two youngest children, Kathleen and Thomas. Beverly then took a job with Cherry Growers as an office manager where she remained for a few years and retired. This gave her an opportunity to pursue her real love: helping children learn. She already was on the St. Francis Board of Education but then became an unpaid special teacher aide with the Elk Rapids School system as well as becoming a paid aide on the Special Needs Bus in Elk Rapids. For this activity she trained her golden retriever, Jasmine, as a therapy dog which she could take to nursing homes and schools. She used Jasimine quite effectively in her work helping children in school since all the children loved dogs. She retired from the Elk Rapids School System as a bus aide but continued her work as a special teacher's aide until Covid began where the Covid restrictions curtailed many of activities Beverly was involved in. During Beverly's marriage to Thomas Czerwienski, she loved to travel and they embarked on many travel adventures with family and friends which provided many wonderful memories over the years. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling Ronald Adams and his wife Vicki, and her daughter Karen Lorne Naegle who succumbed to ALS after being in an ALS research program at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina for several years. Beverly leaves behind three children: Michael Reardon (Doreen), Kathleen Ruonavaara (Todd), and Thomas (Carrie). Nine Grandchildren: Alexander Lorne (Megan), Sarah Lorne, Chelsea Bigger (Preston), Michael Reardon (Courtney), Kayla Reardon, Ryan Ruonavaara (Sharon), Megan Russell (Ian), Alysse Martinez (Elmer), and Brooke Sway (Cody). Fourteen Great Grandchildren: Evan, Jonah, Aidan, Amelie, Evelyn, Addison, Isla Rose, Wyatt, Sylvia, Grace, Ethan, Sarae, Landon, and Quinn. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday afternoon June 7, 2024, at the Stanley Turowski Funeral Home in Dearborn Heights from 4:00-8:00PM with a Rosary at 6:00PM with a Mass at 9:30AM at St. Linus Church in Dearborn Heights the following day.
