Carole Jean Waligorski, October 14, 1945 – April 29, 2026. Carole Jean Waligorski, a lifelong Michigan resident, passed away on April 29, 2026, in Dearborn Heights at the age of 80. She was born on October 14, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Edward and Julia Orlowski. Carole was the beloved wife of the late Leo Ahern and the late Thomas Waligorski. She was a devoted mother to Amy Rogers, Matthew Waligorski, Andrea (Mike) Waker, and Andy Ahern, and the loving mother of the late Steven Wolff. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Kallie, Nick, Claire, Grace, Jack, Katie, and Alexandra. She is survived by her dear siblings, Barbara (Greg) Durbin and Jim (Judi) Orlowski, as well as her nieces and nephews, Amanda (Mike) Keegan, Greg Durbin, and David Durbin. Carole also leaves behind many great-nieces, great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her deeply.Carole graduated from Cody High School in Detroit and went on to live a vibrant and full life. She was the owner of The Country Creations Store in Dearborn Heights, where she connected with her community through her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She had a deep love for animals, especially her many cherished four-legged companions over the years. An avid reader and enthusiastic traveler, Carole explored much of the United States, ventured to Alaska, and even experienced African safaris. She was also an active member of the Hash House Harriers running club, sharing in adventures that took her as far as the United Kingdom.Carole will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her warmth, and her love for family, friends, and animals. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at DeLuca’s Restaurant, 27424 W. Warren Avenue, Westland, Michigan. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society in Carole’s honor.
