Charlene Mary Gorny

Charlene Mary Gorny passed away on Sunday, November 13, at the age of 74. Charlene was born on August 4, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Genevieve (nee Nowrocke) Kushnir. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cody High School in 1966. 3 years after graduating, she married the love of her life, Bill, on August 16, 1969, and they had 3 wonderful children together. Charlene will be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren who she absolutely adored. She was an active member of the Lyskawa Auxiliary Group and of St. Vincent de Paul of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish. Charlene was also an excellent cook who enjoyed making meals for her family. She was such a special person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her dearest children, Bill (Jenny), Andrea (Mark) Gurin, and Kevin (Erica); her cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Hunter McCoy), Brendan, Shelby (Cameron Hord), Emily, and Josslyn. She is also survived by one sister and one brother. Visitation Wednesday 2-8 pm with Lyskawa Auxiliary Group Honors at 5:30 pm and a Rosary at 6 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Instate Thursday at 9:30 am at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, 7685 Grandville Ave., Detroit, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul at SS. Peter and Paul Parish.
