Charles Isaac Jabour, born on the 6th day of April, 1925, passed peacefully on June 27, 2016. Charlie was a lifelong resident of Dearborn, Michigan, having grown up at “ye old Jabour mansion” at Maple and Diversey with his siblings, Eva, Abraham, Louis, and Louise. He married the love of his life, the late Rose Marie Butler, in 1946, after receiving her pen pal letters during his service as a United States Marine during World War II. They were married for 60 years and together had ten children who survive: Claudia and Daniel Rashid, Paul and Kathy Jabour, Marsha and the late Dennis Sullivan, Cynthia and Steven Rogers, Mark and Sharon Jabour, Gregory and the late Nancy Jabour, Maureen and Robert Nurmikko, Diane Jabour, Joan Michaels, and Stephen and Jennifer Jabour. Charlie was adored by over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Many remember his skills of softball pitching at family reunions, his singing of “The Streets of Laredo” to babies, his impeccable penmanship, his loyalty to the Detroit Tigers, his love of a good cigar, and his devotion to Rose Marie and his children. He was a graduate of St. Alphonsus High School and a member of its church and a resident of Morley Manor. Charlie made many fine friends over his lifetime. He was kind and good and generous.
