March 3, 1969 — May 21, 2022

Dale F. Palmer Jr., 53, husband, father and son of Carol Campbell Kuhn and Dale Palmer, Sr. Born in Ft. Bragg, NC, raised in Madison Heights, MI. Born on March 3, 1969 Died on May 21, 2022. Husband to Norma Ibarra-Palmer (52) and father to Sofia Palmer (10) of Dearborn Heights, MI. And a loving fur father of Fraido, Cleo, and Lakota. English Language Arts and Science Fiction tenured teacher at Plymouth High School and PCCS Virtual Academy. United States Army Veteran, 1988 – 1992, 3/325 Airborne Battalion Combat Team, Vincenza, Italy About Dale If you asked a hundred different people who was Dale Frederick Palmer, Jr. you would likely get 100 different answers: He was a great guy, a teacher, an Army Veteran, a photographer, a friend, Mr. Palmer, Palmer!, Ricky (short for Frederick), a husband, a best-friend, my partner in crime, and his all-time favorites, honey and daddy. Dale was compassionate, optimistic, and forgiving, such a beautiful soul with so much love to give. He was a storyteller, a writer, a poet, and a musician. He was a big guy, with a deep voice, and a boisterous laugh. He was opinionated about many things mostly politics. He could tie current issues and history to Star Trek, Star Wars, the Hero’s Journey and the Odyssey. He was witty and sarcastic and had a talent for rewriting all song lyrics and laughing out loud before he could even sing them to me. He was able to memorize movie dialogue after just one watch, you see words mattered to him, delivery mattered. He was a musician, and boy could he sing, and he sang to me on the regular. He knew how to make a crowd roar with laughter and he knew exactly how to make me laugh so hard I would cry. If you hadn’t interacted with him since he was a kid then you lost out because he aged beautifully, his mind, and his soul. We had a beautiful life. Dale could never stand the idea of time apart from us – time apart from his family, his calling, his passion, his home, and now it is our turn to feel the same way about him. As E.E. Cummings perfectly said, Dale, “i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)”. Dale Palmer - Memorial/Celebration of Life Event Thursday, June 16, 2022 The celebration will begin at 6 pm.
