Daria Tsakoff, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at home in Canton, MI, surrounded by family. She was born on November 13, 1937 in Bansko, Bulgaria (Pirin Macedonia), and immigrated to Kitchener, Ontario along with her parents in 1947. In January of 1959, she was married to the late Alexander Tsakoff in Detroit, MI, and they started their married life together in Dearborn. Along with her husband, she was as an active part of their church parish, and a founding member of St. Paul Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Dearborn Heights. She was also a steadfast supporter of the Macedonian Patriotic Organization. Throughout her life she continually nourished those around her with her vibrant personality and caring nature. She dedicated her life to her family and faith, and will be remembered fondly by all that had the opportunity to be graced by her presence. She especially enjoyed spending time with her 7 grandchildren over the past 27 years (Andrew (Jenna), Stephan, Alexander, Christopher, Zoe, Olivia and Nina), creating fond memories. She is also survived by her 4 children (Maria (Mark), Michael (Lisa), Polly, and George). She was pre-deceased by her husband (Alexander, 2005) and sister (Maggie, 2008). Visitation will be at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home located at 25509 W. Warren Road, Dearborn Heights, MI, 48127, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Orthodox Cathedral located at 700 N. Beech Daly Road, Dearborn Heights, MI, 48127 on Wednesday, May 30, in-state at 10:00am until the time of funeral service at 10:30am. The family asks that donations be made either to St. Paul Orthodox Cathedral in Dearborn Heights, or the Macedonian Patriotic Organization located at 124 W. Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, IN, 46802, in her memory.
