Dennis Michael Polak

October 11, 1953 - February 18, 2026

Dennis M. Polak of Plymouth, Michigan passed away February 18 at the age of 72. He was born October 11, 1953 in Detroit, MI, the only child of Bennie and Alice Polak.

Dennis attended the University of Detroit earning his BA in 1975. He went on to earn his MA from Wayne State University in 1978. He worked as an economist at Southeast Michigan Council ot Governments (SEMCOG) while attending University of Detroit Law school. After earning his JD, he started the law practice of Polak & Iler in Livonia where he practiced general law for many years before retiring in 2013. He also loved teaching and taught Economics at many area colleges for over 30 years.

Dennis was very intelligent, friendly and kind. He could talk to most anyone about anything. He loved his books, art and music collections. He will also be remembered fondly for his sharp wit and humor.

He is survived by his cherished companion of 32 years, Debra Quesenberry. He was well loved and will be missed by extended tamily, many friends and all who knew him.

Per his wishes, he was cremated and no visitation or services are planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
