Dorothy Phillips Pargoff November 27, 1922 to March 12, 2020 In 1922 Dorothy was born to Maria and Anastas Phillips. She was the new generation of American Macedonians. Dorothy was one of four children, Masa-otherwise known to all as Teta May, Boris, and George. Dorothy married Boris Stephen Pargoff in 1946 who preceded her to the heavens above in 1999. She is survived by her three Children- Chris, (Louise), Donald, (Marilyn) and Evon (James); six Grandchildren- Nicole, Mathew, Allison, Justin (Stephanie), Jonathan and Phillip, and three Great Grand Children-Grayson, Cooper and Hadley. Dorothy was a child of the Depression, a renaissance of the 40’s, a wife and mother of the 50’s, and a leader and inspiration to the Macedonian American women by being a hard working business women in a time that women were beginning a movement to change the future of all women. Dorothy was a bookkeeper all her professional life, a women in charge, and wasn’t one to mince words. Family both nuclear and extended was important to her. Her faith as an Orthodox Christian sustained her drive and zest for life and adventure. Her MPO Family gave her purpose and lifelong friendships. She was part of a new generation and would make memories of a life time. In the later years after Boris and Teta May passed away to the Land of our Lord her children and grandchildren became a big part of Dorothy’s life. As a devoted Christian she was a member of Holy Transfiguration Church. She participated in bake sales, religious retreats and was a regular member of the church. Dorothy had a traveling spirit, she would go anywhere there could be adventure. When she work for a travel agency she got to see the world and Boris would be traveling behind her. Bingo, Las Vegas and gambling was a passion for her but she knew her limits. Dorothy was a Sunday School Teacher, a Boys Scout Den Mother, a fantastic cook when May and Boris allowed her in the kitchen. She loved life and tried to live it to her fullest. Friends both Macedonian and as we called them “American Friends” were many. In her childhood and teenager she was part of the Big Five-Vera, Sophie, Olga and Natka, where one went you would see the other four. The MPO was a big part of Dorothy’s life and adventure. She would tell stories and shared her adventures with her children. After Dorothy married Bobby she became a part of another large let’s say robust family-The Pargoff’s. At last count we are over one hundred strong and counting. Dorothy and Bobby were a unit and the glue that kept the families together in good times and in bad. Dorothy is survived by her Sister In-laws Theresa, Violet, and Jeanne, Brother In-laws Angel, Milco, and Kyrill, many nieces, nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews. Dorothy and Bobby were God Parents to many- I don’t want to mention them because I am sure I will forget someone the list is so long. There are too many to list of our extended family. She now joins Massa & Philip, Boris and George, Anastas & Maria, Stepho & Angelina, George & Terri, John & Diane. Just remember she loved us all, taught us many lesson of life, being good Macedonian and being a good Christian. Please join my family in a celebration of Dorothy’s life. Do not be sad for her for too long. She is in a special place and has rejoined the live of her life, and the other departed friends and family. Remember her as the strong vibrant, funny and adventurous women that she was. Remember the happy times. Bog da ya prosti, Vechnaya Pamyat. God Bless her and keep her Memory Eternal.
