Laich, Edward J. "Eddie" January 23, 2024. Beloved father of Jeff (Michelle), Steven (Gladys), James, and Prentiss. Dearest grandfather of Alex and Benjamin. Loving brother of Janet (Bill) Papenhagen, Anita, and the late Helen (Ken) Templin. Edward, born in Latrobe, PA, Edward's early years were marked by a profound sense of duty as he served in the United States Air Force in Texas, demonstrating his commitment to protecting and serving his country. Following his military service, Edward embarked on a new chapter of his life, moving to Michigan where he planted roots to raise a loving family. One of Edward's passions that soared above the rest was his love for model aircraft. His enthusiasm for crafting and flying model planes would occupy him for hours. Edward was also a technology aficionado. A guru with computers, he navigated the digital landscape with skill and grace, always staying ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving technological era. Ed was a very private, gentle soul and was kind to everyone. He could make you smile with his subtle humor. He will be missed by many loving family and dear friends. Visitation Saturday from 9 am – 12 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Funeral Service Saturday at the funeral home at noon. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial donations be made to The American Kidney Fund.
