Edward John Miazgowicz died August 14, 2015 in Hospice after several years of failing health. Ed was born on September 17, 1928 in Aliquippa PA to immigrants Michael Miazgowicz and Amelia Gancarz from Poland. He was the youngest of 5 (sister Ann, and brothers Joseph, Julian, and John). As a paratrooper in the Army at the end of World War II, he was stationed with occupational troops in Japan. After returning from WWII, he married Irene Babich from Aliquippa, PA on December 1, 1950 and moved to Detroit. Ed was a teacher in various schools and ended up teaching at Annapolis High in Dearborn Heights. He retired from teaching in 1986, moved to Clare, MI where he kept active volunteering with the local AMVETS post. Ed is survived by his wife Irene, sons - Michael, Dave (Therese), Keith (Eileen), daughter - Denise (Jim), 9 grandchildren – Christy (Matt), Sarah, Mary, Michael, Kerri, Jonathan, Jamie, Matthew, Patrick, and great-granddaughter Amelia. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's name to help Folds of Honor Foundation or Angela Hospice.
