Sochalski, Edwin S. January 20, 2013. Beloved husband of Helen. Dearest father of Mary Lou, Raymond (Anmarie), Julie, Susan (William) Seitz, Annette (Arthur) Holzknecht and the late Edwin. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-8 pm with Rosary at 3 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Instate Wednesday 10:30 am at St. Alphonsus Church until time of Mass at 11 am As family and friends can testify, there was no greater booster for Notre Dame than this proud 1944 alumnus. From his days at St. Steven’s and Orchard Lake Preparatory School, Ed was the consummate life-long learner, and enjoyed every opportunity to explore new vistas. What a surprise to his offspring and grandchildren when he started emailing them when nearing his 8th decade on Earth. And what a bowler! From the West Side Merchants to the Hanses Hardware team playing at Mercury Lanes on Schaeffer Road, he was an art form to watch with just the right spin on the ball. His business acumen was legendary, a skill and touch he learned and honed from his very successful father. He was dedicated member of the St. Alphonsus community throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
