Emily Nicole Gagné, 27, of Dexter, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Houston, Texas surrounded by her family and boyfriend after an undaunted 15-month battle with leukemia.
Emily was born on May 14, 1998, in Ypsilanti, Michigan and lived her entire life in Dexter, Michigan. She graduated from Dexter High School in 2016, and then from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in elementary education. She had an all too short career as a substitute teacher in the Dexter/Ann Arbor area, inspired by her enthusiastic devotion and gift of caring for children.
Emily had a passion for music (she was a dedicated Swiftie), baking and cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends. We remember Emily for the incredible kindness and compassion she showed to her family, friends, and everyone in her life.
Though her time with us was too short, Emily leaves a legacy of love, treasured memories, and a deep hole in our hearts. Emily is survived by her parents Dianne Gagné (Witkowski) and Charlie Gagné, her brother Andrew Gagné (Taylor Horn), her boyfriend Florian Mair, her aunts and uncles David Witkowski (Kim Gomolak), John Witkowski (Laura), Jerry Witkowski (Carole Kubitskey), Jeaninne Allen (Adrian), Tom Gagné (Tiffani), Marielle Gagné, Robert Bischof (Andrea), and Jennifer Jensen, her grandmother Patricia Bischof, as well as numerous cousins and friends who meant the world to her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alexander and Josephine Witkowski, Russell and Joan Gagné, and Lawrence Bischof.
Visitation Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W Warren, Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
