Addison, Floyd Sr. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 19, 2014. Born March 15, 1930 and married his loving wife Joyce on March 19, 1949. He was the LOVE of her life.
Dearest father of 5 children, Floyd Jr. (Dorothy), Michael (Tina), Nora (Rick) Sandecki, Toni Barbara (Bill) Mullan and Joseph (Debbie). A wonderful grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He also had 4 sisters, the late Idella Megran, the late Joyce Groh, Nina Hiler of New Jersey and Linda Smith of Georgia. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years with 18 months in Korea. He owned Addison Modernization in Dearborn along with his son Michael for 30 years. He was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, served on the Dearborn Zoning Board, and was a member of the Dearborn Goodfellows. Formerly a Cub Scout leader and a little league coach, he was also known by many as “Red” and loved to play poker, pinochle, and tell jokes.
He treasured his wife of almost 65 years, was proud of his family and cherished his friends. He was a great man and truly One-Of-A-Kind. He was loved and respected by many. He will be sadly missed by all.
The family will receive visitors at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights, Friday 1-8pm with Prayer Service at 7pm. Instate Saturday 10:30 am at St. Constance Church until time of Mass at 11am, 21555 Kinyon St., Taylor. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial donations to St.Vincent de Paul.
