Fr. Kevin P. O'Doherty

Fr. Kevin P. O’Doherty September 5, 1933 – January 2, 2023 Date of Ordination May 26, 1962 Born in Detroit, MI in 1933. 1933 he was baptized at St. Cecilia Church in Detroit. He grew up in Brighton, MI. He graduated from Brighton High School. Later he attended St. Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, Indiana, and was ordained a priest on May 26, 1962, in St Patrick's Church in Brighton, MI. Served at Our Lady of Grace Church in Dearborn Heights, MI as an associate pastor (1962-1970) and as pastor (1983-1991). Served as an associate pastor at Sacred Heart Church in Ludington, MI (1991-1993). Served as a Missionary in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe at Christ the King Parish (1974-1983) and (1993-2008). He returned to the Mariannhill Community in Dearborn Heights, MI in 2009 and resided there until his health declined in 2019 then he went to live at Marywood Nursing Care Center in Livonia, MI where he remained until his death on January 2, 2023. Visitation Friday from 3-7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Instate Saturday at 9:30 am at Mariannhill Mission Society, 23715 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, until the time of Mass at 10:00 am.
