Frances Chronicle, lovingly known as “Franny,” passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family.
Born on November 6, 1924, Frances lived a full and beautiful life defined by hard work, generosity, and an artistic spirit. She married the love of her life, James Chronicle, on September 3, 1949, beginning a lifelong partnership centered on family, faith, and home. Together, they built a loving family and a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Frances was always busy — rarely sitting still — and was truly the handyman of the house. She painted and wallpapered every room herself, transforming each space with care and creativity. A gifted artist in every sense, she sewed clothing for her children and others in the community and expressed her talents through drawing, oil painting, watercolors, and chalk art.
A proud Italian at heart, Frances showed love through food. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, always filled with homemade spaghetti and meatballs, sweet treats, and enough food for anyone who stopped by. She loved chocolate, lively conversation, and, most of all, time spent surrounded by her family. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely and supported endlessly.
Frances is survived by her loving children: Charles (Janine), James (Carol), Sandra (Daniel), and Suzanne (Tom), and her cherished son-in-law Dave. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Chronicle, and her dear daughter, Karrie.
She was a proud grandmother to James, Charles, David, Thomas, Kevin, Kristina, Katherine, Lisa, Renee, and Mollie, and a devoted great-grandmother to many adored great-grandchildren.
Frances will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, strong spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and well cared for. Her legacy lives on through the family she treasured above all else.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
