Obituary

Genevieve Aurelia Simon

January 3, 1929 – June 29, 2026

Genevieve Aurelia Simon, age 97, passed away on June 29, 2026.

Genevieve was the beloved wife of the late Julius Simon. She was the dearest mother of Michael (Cathy) Simon, Kathy (the late Gary) Poslaiko, and the late Stephen Simon.

She was the loving grandmother of Theresa Roberts, Emily Simon, Kelly (Adam) Lane, and Peter (Detra) Poslaiko, and the proud great-grandmother of Madalin Roberts, Josephine Roberts, Grant Roberts, Grace Roberts, Dempsey Lane, Alexis Lane, and Anastasia Santiago.

Genevieve was the dear sister of the late Felix Buczek and Lottie (the late Joe) Tylutki.

Genevieve lived a full and adventurous life. She had a passion for traveling and cherished the many experiences and memories she made along the way. She worked at Sears and as a secretary for Ford Motor Company, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

A talented and creative woman, Genevieve enjoyed making crafts throughout her life and, in her later years, found great joy in designing beautiful handmade greeting cards for family and friends. She also loved gathering around the card table, especially for a spirited game of pinochle, where laughter and friendly competition were always abundant.

Genevieve was an exceptional cook whose homemade Polish meals became treasured family traditions. Nothing brought her greater happiness than welcoming her loved ones together around the table. Large family gatherings were the heart of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to celebrate holidays, milestones, and everyday moments with the people she loved most.
