Gertrude (Pucilowski) Bonk, of Dearborn Heights, MI, passed away of natural causes on December 23, 2016. Mrs. Bonk was born March 22, 1922 and married Edward Joseph Bonk (deceased 2001) on June 19, 1948, in their hometown of Avoca, PA. The couple moved to Dearborn Heights, MI in 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Pucilowski and Pearl (Ratajski) Pucilowski, thirteen siblings, and her daughter, Mary Hunter. She is survived by two sisters, Edna Casaccio and Jean Starzec, and three children, Christine (Gary) Abell, Edward (Susan) Bonk, and Peter (Peggy) Bonk, as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a founding member of St. Linus Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights and active in parish activities. Respects may be paid on Monday, December 26 at Turowski and Sons Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at St. Linus Church, and will be laid to rest in St. Hedwig Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the St. Linus Parish Food Bank.
