Isabel A. Andico
November 19, 1930 - May 7, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Isabel A. Andico, who entered eternal rest on May 7, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born on November 19, 1930, in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines, Isabel dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. A proud graduate of the Chinese General Hospital School of Nursing in the Philippines, she later earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Philippine Women's University. Isabel began her nursing career at her alma mater before moving to the United States as an exchange student. She went on to build a long and distinguished career in nursing, serving with compassion and dedication at Detroit Metropolitan Hospital and later at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia, where she worked until her retirement at the remarkable age of 80.
Isabel was a woman of many passions. She found joy in gardening, cooking, and crocheting, and was always willing to share her talents and kindness with those around her. A devout Catholic, she was a daily churchgoer and a devoted member of St. Sabina Church, where she was active in many church functions and community events.
Isabel was known for her incredibly generous spirit, thoughtfulness, and unwavering kindness. She touched countless lives with her gentle heart and giving nature. She was the beloved wife of the late Benito Andico, and the loving sister of Romeo (Elsie) Alfaro, Valentino (Eden) Alfaro, and Cora (Ronald) Nunn. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Isabel will lie in state on Friday, May 16th, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Sabina Church until the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
