Janice Sullivan

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Sullivan, beloved mother of George Sullivan (Ginny), Colleen Halvin (Sean) and Joanie Orzechowski (Aaron); grandmother to Zachary Halvin (Madison), Kayla Stilwell (Heath), Madison Sullivan, Austin Halvin and Savannah Orzechowski. Janice passed away on April 25, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on June 23, 1943, in Detroit, MI to Edward and Regina (Slapik) Pochmara and preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joanna Malek, and granddaughter Lily Orzechowski.

Janice graduated from Rosary High School and completed an associate’s degree from Dorsey Business School.  She worked at Republic Bancorp Mortgage as a Post Closing Supervisor until her retirement.  After retirement Janice enjoyed vacationing with her cousins, taking care of her grandchildren, working in her yard and being around her family.

Janice was an exceptionally smart, quiet and stoic woman.  You would often find her playing sudoku puzzles, solitaire, surfing the web, reading or watching her favorite TV shows.

A Visitation will be held on May 5, 2025 at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home 25509 West Warren Ave. Dearborn Heights, MI 48127 from 2 to 8pm with Funeral Service at 6:30 pm
