Joan Caroline Romanowski
September 23, 1936 – July 1, 2025

Joan “JoAnn” Romanowski, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by the
love of her family.

Beloved wife of the late Ernest “Ernie” Romanowski, Joan was a devoted and loving mother to
Marci (Ted) Paige, Anthony (Bonnie) Romanowski, Juliann (Jeff) Geisinger, and Jennifer (Phil)
Grover. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Melissa (Travis), Brandon, Miranda,
Matthew, and Natalie, and the great-grandmother of Cambrie.

Born on September 23, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas and Jeannie Cichowicz, Joan was
the eldest of four siblings. She is predeceased by her sisters Geraldine McBee and Diana “Tutu”
(John) Walters, and her brother Thomas Cichowicz. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan
Cichowicz, and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joan had a heart as generous as her smile. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing
bingo, trivia, virtual bowling, and bunco with friends, crocheting and knitting gifts for loved
ones, solving word seek puzzles, and playing poker with enthusiasm. She was a proud 15-time
blue ribbon winner at the Michigan State Fair for her expert canning, an accomplishment she
treasured.

An avid reader of western novels and a fan of crime drama shows, Joan also loved petting dogs,
indulging in milk chocolates, listening to the song of cardinals, and admiring sunflowers.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stanley
Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 West Warren, Dearborn Heights. A memorial service will begin
at 7:00 PM on the same day.

A Graveside Service at St. Hedwig Cemetery section 1-C, lot 76, grave 8, to bury her cremains will take place Thursday, July 10, at 10:00 am.
