John Pazzanese

November 24, 1942 — June 17, 2022

John Pazzanese of Livonia, formerly of Dearborn passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2022. Preceding him in death were his parents Ralph and Sabina, sisters Jeannie and Marilyn and brother Joseph. His beloved wife Judith and step son Darrin Reed. John is survived by his sister Rose Androff, nephew, nieces, cousins, and loving friend Susan Paluchniak. John has taught at Austin Catholic Prep School in Detroit and the Dearborn Public Schools, where he taught Social Studies. He served on the Dearborn City council (78-82) and received the alumnus of the year award from UofM Dearborn in 1978. A dedicated environmentalist he help lead a 1974 protest against “excessive” development of Fairlane Town Center. He wrote and recorded “Save the Trees for the Children” a song that helped save the Henry Ford Wildlife Preserve. In accordance with John’s wishes no services will be held.
