Joseph Edward Urban Jr., a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a genuine passion for life. Born to Joseph and Julia Urban, nee Malarchik, on March 8, 1955, Joseph lived a life marked by sincerity and resilience. A proud graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 1973, Joseph's journey in life took him through various roles. An auto mechanic and skilled meat cutter, Joseph's hands could transform raw materials into refined craftsmanship. His dedication to his work was a testament to his commitment to providing for those he cared about. Joseph had a profound love for the great outdoors. Fishing and hunting were not merely pastimes for him but were integral to his essence. Whether casting a line into the tranquil waters or patiently waiting in the wilderness, he found solace and joy in these pursuits. Equally intense was his dedication to Detroit sports, a passion that ran deep and embodied the true spirit of a devoted fan. For a decade, Joseph called Southern California home, but the pull of Michigan and the embrace of family were irresistible. He returned to the place he held dear, reuniting with loved ones and the familiar landscapes of his youth. Joseph is the beloved son of the late Joseph and Julia. Dear brother of Julianna Kramer, John, Stephen, Mary Klovski, Margaret, Paul, and the late Michael. Loving uncle of Gerald, Angela, Stephen, Katie, Cory, and Dana. Dear great-uncle of Peyton and Brady. Also survived by many cherished friends. Memorial Visitation Sunday, November 19, from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm with a Rosary at 4:00 pm. Memorial Mass Monday 10:00 am at St. Anselm Church.
