Joe was born on April 21, 1938 to parents, Josip and Katarina Zupancic. He was one of 5 boys and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Joe graduated from Western High School and received the call to serve his country. He spent three years in the Army in Germany.
When he returned from the service, Joe began to work at Auto Flo (Masco). He spent over 25 years there before transferring to Brass Craft (Masco). Altogether, Joe spent more than 40 years at Masco Corporation and loved every minute of it.
Joe had two children, Lisa and Eric. He was a family man that adored his kids. For Joe, they were perfect and could do no wrong. Life was good for Joe and got even better when he welcomed his two grandsons. Nate and Nick were “Papa’s Boys”. He enjoyed their antics and spent countless hours playing with them and eating chicken nuggets. Weekends were sleepovers at Papa’s house. Truly, who enjoyed them more- Papa! Joe loved being a Papa. After Eric married Michelle, his joy was tripled by his girls.

He was an avid bowler, a hobby all Zupancic and Alvord men enjoy. He also dreamed of winning the lottery and sharing the wealth.
Joe was a good man who lived a simple family life. He will certainly be missed by his family and friends. So in Closing we say “God Speed, Joe, Rest in Peace”.
