Kathleen M. Carpen

On September 23rd, 2021, Kathleen Marie Carpen joined her parents Don & Elaine Kaminsky, and her loving Grandmother Irene Dombrowski in Heaven where she was greeted by Conan & Molly. She is survived by her adoring family: Arnold, her beloved husband of 38 years, her three children of whom she was always so very proud, Nick (Heather), Kaitlyn (Robert), Kristyn, and her loyal companions Zack, Mischka, and Brennan. Kathy was widely known as a vibrant, quick-witted, warm, loving wife and mother with an infectious laugh who profoundly impacted the lives of all she met. She leaves behind countless “adopted” children, including Rebecca Leahy. Kathleen was an incredibly talented chef and baker, green-thumbed gardener, Polish dance costume maker, and great at giving advice. Most of all, she was an extraordinary Mom. Kathy enjoyed “Up North” living and loved spending time in the sun boating and tubing on Lake St Helen with family and friends or sitting around a campfire sharing a really burnt marshmallow. Our lives, hearts, and tables will never be quite as full in her absence. Memorial visitation on Thursday, 09/30 from 2 pm-8 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home (25509 W. Warren Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127). Funeral services at St Barbara Catholic Church (13534 Colson Ave. Dearborn, MI 48126) on Friday, 10/01 at 11 am. Family and friends reception to follow. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, donations, and cards are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the Carpen family to be distributed in support of the causes closest to Kathy's heart.
