Kazimierz (Kazik) Kontkiewicz passed away on August 29, 2026, one day after his 78th birthday.

Kazik was the father of Jenny (Mike) Morley, Eva Kontkiewicz, Kristina Richmond, and Julie Kontkiewicz. He was a dear Dziadzia (grandfather) of Maddie Morley, Nick Morley, Gabby Richmond, and Jackson Richmond. He was the former husband of Teresa Kontkiewicz. Brother of Alice Hanner. Kazik was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Maria Kontkiewicz.

Kazik was born in Pieszyce, Poland. Kazik’s father and mother took the entire family to the United States with great hope for a better life.

Through strength, hard work, and determination, Kazik and his wife Teresa, built a life for themselves and eventually started their own business in the Tool and Die industry, specializing in horizontal boring and milling. Kazik was very well respected in the industry for his expertise and quality work.

Kazik had a great appreciation for the outdoors growing up in the foothills of mountains in Pieszyce, Poland. Kazik dreamed that his children could experience nature the way he had. Kazik and Teresa eventually moved their family out of Detroit to a wooded property in Howell, Michigan.

Kazik was very proud to give his four daughters a grand forested landscape to grow up in. He enjoyed the natural world and in his free time could be seen hiking through trails in the woods or staring at the night sky on his porch, with a deep appreciation for astronomy. He instilled those special values of nature in his children and grandchildren. Kazik also enjoyed reading, was an avid sports fan with a special passion for soccer and loved the World Cup.

We will miss you and will always love you Tata, Dziadzia, Brother and Friend. May eternal rest and perpetual light shine upon you, and in God’s loving hands, may you forever rest in peace. 

Memorial Visitation Thursday, September 24th, 11:30 am until the Memorial Service at 1:30 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights.
