Loretta Slizewski, age 99, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025. Born on April 22, 1926 to Mack and Mary Swiderek, Loretta lived a long life filled with family and friends. Loretta was married to her beloved late husband Raymond for 59 years. Together they raised four children, Gary, Cheryl (Michael), Allan (Carolyn) and Brian (Elise). Loretta was a loving and devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren: Lauren, Brian, Brandon, Luke, Hannah, Zack and Audrey, and also her beloved great-grandson Asher.
Loretta began her working career at Ford Motor Company, and was a working mother while raising her family. She later worked at the National Bank of Detroit, then the city of Dearborn Heights for 17 years in the Water Billing Department. After retirement, Loretta and Ray enjoyed traveling to Florida for a month in the winter. Together they shared the dream of owning a home on a lake, and every summer their cottage on Marble Lake was a favorite gathering spot for family and friends.
Loretta was a founding member of St. Linus Parish, and was a supporter of the parish to the end. She was a woman of strong faith, a hardworking career woman, a cherished wife, and loving mother and grandmother.
