Margaret "Pegeen" Mary Mitchell

"Pegeen" Margaret Mary Mitchell was born in Detroit on 9 January 1957. The first child of the late Ellen and Aloysius Mitchell, and big sister to twins Eileen (Keith) Miazgowicz, and the late Jamie. Margaret will be remembered fondly as an Aunt to Matthew and Patrick and as a dear friend to Kimberly. Pegeen grew up in a close-knit Northwest Detroit parish of Precious Blood, where she excelled in academics, band, choir, and multiple student activities. She graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in 1975. After college, she held various office jobs and worked as a bank teller for a time. Pegeen enjoyed many social events and was active in singles groups on both the east and west side of the city. She had a strong voice and loved to sing while playing acoustic guitar. She had a passion for card and board games of all kinds, with Bingo being a favorite pastime shared with her beloved circle of friends. In her later years, she resided at Beaumont Commons and was affectionately known as “Queen Pegeen”. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, July 13th at Divine Child Church in Dearborn, MI @ 10:00 am. In-State @ 9:30 am.
