Michael Wayne Chavis

Michael Wayne Chavis, born January 16, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on September 2, 2025.

Michael was the beloved husband of 18 years to Shelly Morrison. He was the cherished “Papa” of Nathan Grisbry, DJ Kirland, David and Ava Morrison, and the dear brother-in-law of Lynn Calderon, Lee (Deborah) Steffen, Scott (Leslie) Steffen, and Christie (Mark) Farkas. He was a step-father to Michael, Melissa (DJ), David (Katrina), and the late Daniel.

Michael was, in many ways, a grumpy but loving old soul who gave of himself generously. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, country music, and a cold Bud Light. He appreciated the simple things in life, carried a giving heart, and will be remembered for both his humor and his love for his family.

A memorial visitation will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
