Norman "Norm" Dennis Tavian

Norman (Norm) Dennis Tavian 56, passed away on a warm and sunny afternoon of October 22nd, 2022 surrounded by his family in Canton, Michigan. Norm is survived by his loving wife Dawn (Dioguardi) Tavian and three children Stori Tavian, Mia Tavian and Joseph Tavian; his father and mother Armando Tavian and Elsa (Caucas) Tavian; and brothers Ronald Tavian and Paul Tavian. He taught himself to play guitar and bass at age 16, and with friends he formed a band “Triple XXX” as the bass player in the 1990s. On May 5th, 1994 Norm married the love of his life Dawn Dioguardi Tavian in Florida, and they were happily married for 28 years. After the birth of their first daughter in 1997, they moved to Michigan to continue growing their family. Norm taught himself Computer-aided Design (CAD) and 3-D illustration, and was employed at Newman Smith Architecture for almost 20 years. Norm loved to play and watch hockey, play the bass, drink coffee, play video games, eat cereal at night, blast music on the beach, listen to 80s Rock and purchase increasingly bigger flat screen TVs. He enjoyed driving a Jeep Wrangler with the top off, playing ‘Guitar Hero’ with his children, was a master at pinball and you could always find a piece of crumpled paper towel in his pocket. He loved to explore the newest advancements in technology and made sure his children always had access to it as well. Norm enjoyed spending time with his family cooking an extravagant breakfast every weekend, sharing stories and watching TV. He adored his five Yorkies that worshipped the ground he walked on. He also enjoyed spending time with his best friends around the kitchen table. Norm will be deeply missed by many family members and friends. A memorial gathering with light refreshments will take place at: Hanford Club House 45800 Hanford Rd, Canton, MI 48187 October 28, 2022 5 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tavian family.
