Patrick James O'Neill Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026.
Patrick was the beloved husband of Martha O'Neill. He was the devoted father of Susan (Mike) Diamond and Noel (Steve) Ramsey, and the cherished "Pop" of Jack, Taylor, and Trevor, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
He was the loving son of the late Patrick and Adeline O'Neill and the dear brother of James (the late Carla) O'Neill, Mary (Randy Bain) O'Neill, and Barbara Ann O'Neill.
Born on November 25, 1946, at St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit, Patrick was baptized at St. Alphonsus Church, where he also attended grade school through the eighth grade. He graduated from Salesian High School in Detroit with the Class of 1964.
Following high school, Patrick was drafted into the United States Army, receiving lottery number two. He proudly served his country from 1970 to 1971, stationed in Europe. While overseas, he embraced every opportunity to travel throughout Europe on weekends, creating memories and experiences that he treasured throughout his life.
After completing his military service, Patrick earned his teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University. He went on to build a successful professional career in Information Technology Audit, working for both General Motors and Ford Motor Company. He was respected for his intelligence, integrity, and dedication throughout his career.
Patrick will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, his sharp mind, and the kindness he shared with those around him. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, whose love enriched every chapter of his life.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 West Warren Avenue, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Patrick's memory.
