Raymond Arthur Schmaedeke

SCHMAEDEKE, RAYMOND ARTHUR. August 6, 1927 - May 8, 2021. Age 93. Beloved son of the late Henry and Julia. Dearest brother of Henry and the late Irene. A dear friend of Barbara Coates. Dear friends and neighbors of the Ken and Terry Monkiewicz Family and dear friend of the Iafrate Family. Raymond is a veteran that served in two branches of the military. Raymond’s first enlistment he wanted to do his part for the country so he enlisted into the Navy 1 month after his 18th birthday. Ray served in the Navy USNR (Seaman 2 nd Class) from Sept 5 1945 until he was discharged July 29, 1946. He then returned to his parent’s home and assisted in supporting their household. In 1951 Ray again felt the need to support the country during the Korean War so he enlisted into the Airforce. He served in the Air Force (Airman First Class) as a jet aircraft mechanic from February 1, 1951 until October 29, 1952. Ray was employed after the service as a machinist and continued that career until he retired. Visitation Tuesday at 10:30 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights.
