POLISH, STANLEY N. February 14, 2015. Beloved husband of Helen. Loving father of Diane Polish (Michael Merlo). Dear brother-in-law of Henry (Shirley) Gorski and Angie (Frank) Lusebrink. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Stanley was born to Nicholas and Mary Polish in Lilly, Pennsylvania. He grew up with siblings John, Stella, Helen and Millie He served as a corporal in the U.S Marine Corps during World War II. During his work years, he was a union member and union steward. He retired from Canteen Catering Company in 1991. After retirement he worked part time at the Detroit Race Course. Besides horse racing, he enjoyed playing cards, collecting coins and family gatherings. He doted on his nieces and nephews and later their children. He loved dogs and enjoyed taking his daughters’ dogs to the park when he could. He was friendly to all and always had a smile, a kind word and a joke for everyone. Family will receive friends Thursday from 1-8 pm with Prayer Service at 7 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Instate Friday 9:30 am at St. Linus Church until time of Mass at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the Capuchins.
