Sylvester Galczyk

With our deepest sorrow, the Galczyk family announces the death of their beloved son and brother, Sylvester, age 52, on Wednesday October 4, 2017. Sly is survived by his mother, Gabriela, sister, Barb, brother-in-law Jamie and nephew Connor.  We are relieved that his 17 month battle with cancer (multiple myeloma) has come to an end and he has found peace.  Following his wishes, a private mass and funeral for his immediate family will on Saturday October 7, 2017 in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Sly was born May 18, 1965 in Lomza, Poland and came to the United States at the age of 7. He attended the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and later graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In his professional career, Sly worked in the automotive community with focus on powertrain sensors and instrument clusters and was most recently employed by Continental Corporation. He was known by his friends and acquaintances for his kindness and unselfishness and there were none with a bigger heart. As we loved him in life, we will remember him after his death.
