Sylvia Alice Myers, born on February 22, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank and Julia Tracy, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024.
Beloved wife of Joseph, Sylvia's life was filled with love, joy, and cherished memories. She was the dearest mother of Michelle Olivero and Melanie Champagne, and the cherished Grandma, lovingly known as Lala, to Julia Champagne, Madalyn Champagne, Michael Olivero, Amanda Olivero, and Olivia Champagne. Sylvia was also a loving sister to Ronald Tracy and Cindy (Rick) Tobin, and a dear sister-in-law to the late Ronald (Elaine) Myers. She is survived by many nephews and cousins who will remember her fondly.
Sylvia had a vibrant spirit and a passion for the simple joys of life. She loved the thrill of summertime storms, the kind that lit up the sky and brought a refreshing change to the air. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting MGM Casino, always hoping that luck would be on her side for that big win.
She enjoyed life to the fullest, often with a margarita in hand and, on occasion, a shot of Fireball to keep things interesting. Music was a constant companion for Sylvia; she adored listening to the smooth sounds of Elvis Presley and the soulful beats of Motown, which always brought a smile to her face.
A true sports enthusiast, Sylvia was a devoted fan of Michigan football—often proudly cheering "Go Blue!"—as well as the Detroit Lions, Alabama football, Detroit Tigers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She had a knack for deep conversations about the intricacies of the quarterback position and the talent on display in the NFL, a testament to her keen understanding and love for the game.
