Wanda Coleman

COLEMAN, WANDA of Gaylord, MI. passed away September 19, 2010, age 94. Born August 27, 1916 in Detroit, MI. to Stella Weglarz and Joseph Bilas, daughter of Stella Weglarz and John Grden, wife of the late E. North Coleman Sr.. Mrs. Coleman had a long established career of 38 years with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office, retiring in 1971. She took a leave of two years to work in the San Bernadino, California District Attorney’s office; while in California, she met and married her husband on February 19, 1944. When the war ended, Mr. & Mrs. Coleman returned to Michigan where Mrs. Coleman resumed her career with Wayne County. She enjoyed an interest in learning foreign languages, travel and crafting after raising her children. Mother of E. North (Linda) Coleman Jr. and Kyle (Charles) Achatz; grandmother of Kimberly, E. North III, Linda, Mary and John, and great-grandmother of Taylor, Ethan and Sadie. Survived by brothers Julius and Ronald Grden; preceded in death by sisters Lottie Kotlinski and Josephine Jedynak and brother John Grden. Family will receive friends Monday 5-8pm and Tuesday 1-8 pm with a Rosary at 5pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home 25509 W. Warrren (3 blocks east of Beech Daly) Dearborn Hts.
