Obituary

Wanda Faye Novelly

February 25, 1952 • July 29, 2026

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 25, 1952, Faye was the beloved daughter of Gladys and Robert Clay Taylor. She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Gerald A. Novelly; her daughter, Lechelle Lee (Phillip G.) Moore; her grandsons, Christopher G. Moore and Austin J. Moore; and many loving family members and dear friends.

Faye lived a life defined by faith, perseverance, and compassion. A trailblazer throughout her career, she was one of Nashville's first female automobile salespeople before becoming an editor with Ingram Book Company, later founding her own advertising agency. She was the first female VP on an automotive account at BBDO Worldwide, and ultimately fulfilled her dream of becoming an attorney. After graduating in the top ten percent of her class from Wayne State University Law School, she returned to Nashville and served as Managing Attorney for the UAW Legal Services Plan until her retirement in 2025.

While her professional accomplishments were many, her greatest priorities were her faith and her family. A devoted Catholic, Faye served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville. She loved studying the Bible, especially the Old Testament, reading about ancient history, sewing, art, and interior decorating. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandsons and cheering them on at their sporting events.

An inspiration to others, Faye will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church in Novi, Michigan, on Friday, August 7, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

The mass will be live-streamed at www.stjamesnovi.org
