Wenceslaus "Vance" J. Maliszewski

WENCESLAUS "VANCE" J. MALISZEWSKI, age 94, of Howell, died peacefully at his assisted living facility on Monday, December 5, 2016.  Vance was born on July 5, 1922 in Detroit, MI, the son of Thomas and Wanda (nee Kosciolko) Maliszewski, and the third of four children.  He graduated from De La Salle High School and was an U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII.  He attended U of D Law School and received his doctorate in law in 1953. Vance was a real estate broker and probate attorney at his own business in Dearborn and retired as an Emeritus member of the State Bar of Michigan after more than 50 years.  Vance was a member of the St. Alphonsus Ushers Club for over 20 years.  He enjoyed his memberships at the Bishop Foley Knights of Columbus, Dearborn Pioneers Club, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, Dearborn Realtors as well as later in life his St. Anselm Friendship Club.  Vance enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger years. Vance was preceded in death by his wife Mary (nee Popowitz) and daughters Jacqueline, Nancy (Greg) Jabour, Pauline and Elaine.  He is survived by daughters Theresa (the late Nicholas Corridore & the late Terry Fox) Corridore-Fox, Lucille Maliszewski, Mary (Richard) Bak, Alice (C.J.) Maier, Wanda (the late Kevin) Ewald, and Judith (Rick) Burkholder, as well as 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his brother Philip, and sisters, Frances and Jean. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8th, from 1-8 pm with Rosary at 6:00 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 9th, with viewing beginning at 9:00 am at St. Alphonsus Church, 7455 Calhoun, Dearborn, until time of Mass at 9:30 am with Father Linus.  Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 17100 Van Dyke, Detroit.
