William Kenneth Dye, affectionately known as Ken, passed away on September 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories. He was born on October 28, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to proud parents James and Wylvia (nee McCauley). Ken's life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a deep passion for various pursuits. He was a proud graduate of Trinity High School in the class of 1962. Ken was not only a skilled golfer but also a formidable pool shark and an enthusiastic card player. His competitive spirit and love for these games were well-known to all who had the privilege of playing with him. Beyond his hobbies, Ken was known for being an all-around jokester who relished being the life of the party. His sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him, and he had a unique talent for making people laugh. Ken also had a deep appreciation for music and dancing, and he could often be found on the dance floor, moving to the rhythm of the music. Ken enjoyed a fulfilling career, having retired from both Ford Motor Company and Union Pacific Railroad. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual who made lasting contributions in his professional life. Ken was the beloved husband of the late Michelle and a cherished father to William "Bill" (Michelle), Robert "Bob" (Rosealena), Thea (Chris) DeLisle, and Keith (Megan). His love extended to his grandchildren, including Hanna, Abbey, Annie, Alexander, Alana, Brendon, Breanna, Bryce, Danica, Libby, Kaycie, Maisie, Garrett, and Connor. He was also a great-grandfather to William, Evelyn, Sophia, Mason, and Mallory. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jim, Mary, Charlie (the late Todd), June (the late John) Nally, and Joe (Francine). Ken is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who cherished their uncle and the joy he brought to their lives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home, located at 25509 W. Warren, Dearborn Heights. Additional visitation will take place on Friday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, Kentucky. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Ken's life will be held on Saturday at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Parish, located at 5505 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, Kentucky, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
