William Louis Romanski Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at his home in Wyandotte, Michigan, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on December 1, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Felix and Frances (Suski) Romanski. William proudly worked for Ford Motor Company for 32 years before retiring in 1997. Following retirement, he and his wife enjoyed splitting their time between Wyandotte, Michigan, and Largo, Florida, embracing an active and fulfilling lifestyle.

On June 4, 1976, William married the love of his life, Phyllis Nuler, in Dearborn. Together they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

William lived life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He had a lifelong passion for automobiles, particularly manuals, and was a devoted member of the Henry Ford Heritage Association. He was an avid swimmer and loved biking. He generously volunteered at the Clearwater YMCA and the Pinellas Trail. His love for the water was a defining part of his life—he was a member of the Wyandotte Yacht Club for 30 years and proudly served as its Commodore. He was also a life member of Friends of the Detroit River and a dedicated member of the Ford Sea Lancers Scuba Club for 25 years, serving as president. Boating was one of his greatest joys and took him through travels across the Great Lakes.

William was known for his great sense of humor, positive attitude, and genuine kindness. He had a way of lifting spirits and making every moment a little brighter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Romanski; his children, Dawn Romanski, William (Lisa) Romanski Jr., and Felix Romanski; sister Diane Altesleben, sister-in-law Carole Parmenter, grandchildren, April (Sydney) Martinez, Aaron Romanski, Ashley (Chris) Johns, Emily Romanski, Samuel Romanski, Alexa Romanski, and Raquel (Ryan) Marr; and great-grandchildren, Tavian Whitsett, Miliani Martinez, Zakario Martinez, Daevyon Martinez, Santino Martinez, Aaiyanna Romanski, Aalona Romanski, Aaziah Romanski, Mackenzie Johns, Isabelle Johns, Jackson Johns, Ryland St. Pierre, and Riverlynn Marr; and nephews Robert Parmenter, Jeffrey Parmenter, and Leonard Parmenter.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jack Romanski; his parents, Felix and Frances Romanski; and his siblings, Rita Ellis, Norma Green, Donald Romanski Sr., and Edward Romanski.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Stanley Turowski Funeral Home (25509 W. Warren Street, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127). Visitation will begin at 12 pm and last until time of service.
